Fundraise

Golden United is a non-partisan, residents-driven organization striving to engage Golden area community members across all walks of life to find common ground and act with respect and dignity in strengthening our community.

Golden United launched in 2017 when we gathered residents from different backgrounds and asked them to identify shared values and initial actions to expand understanding and collaboration across the community. Since then, we continued our mission through community forums, rallies, annual events, task forces, and teaming with existing groups to amplify their efforts. We bring people together to solve difficult problems in our community.

We are currently actively working on the following areas identified as important to Golden community members:

Affordable Housing - We work to raise awareness of housing issues in our community to:

Preserve affordable housing in Golden for all income levels
Preserve manufactured home communities as a key niche for affordable housing in Golden
Advocate for additional affordable housing for all income levels
Promote awareness and education about housing issues and solutions
Convene discussions and citizen engagement to address housing issues in Golden

Colorado School of Mines - We collaborate with Colorado School of Mines student and faculty organizations to:

Provide mentoring to Golden area youth
Build connection between the Golden community and the Colorado School of Mines
Partner with Mines Multi-Cultural Engineering Society on community volunteer activities
Convene join STEM events with community area youth and families

Mental Health - We responded to the community when they expressed interest in improving mental health in Golden by:

Engaging with community members to identify mental health priorities;
Brining information about resources to Golden residents; and
Joining other groups with interest in mental health.

Community Engagement - We bring together members of our community from all walks of life through:

Community discussions
Celebration of Golden events
Unity events, including vigils, rallies and marches
Supporting other community organizations through partnerships

Mission

Golden United encourages participation of people from varying backgrounds and with differing views, creates safe spaces for listening and understanding each other, and seeks to find shared interests and solutions.
