In times of uncertainty, home becomes more than just a place to live, it is a source of stability, security, and hope. Yet too many families in our community are burdened by the high cost of housing or are living in overcrowded conditions. Flatirons Habitat for Humanity is committed to changing that by creating safe, affordable homeownership opportunities for local families.

Thanks to our innovative BoulderMOD factory, Flatirons Habitat is increasing production from just 3–4 homes per year to 25–30 homes annually. This transformational growth means more families will have the opportunity to build a brighter future through affordable homeownership. As we expand our impact, community support is more important than ever. Every donation helps us build more homes, strengthen our community, and give more families a place to call home.

Testimonials

“I have children, they have clothes, everything, and you have nowhere to put it. With this new house, when they told us, we all jumped at the opportunity and now I think we shouldn’t let it go. We are going to own our own house. They are taking us into account when they did this project. That we who live in Ponderosa Park can get a house and it is not just for a year, it is for life and I love that.” - Maribel, Habitat Homeowner, Ponderosa Park

“Before Boulder TEC and Flatirons Habitat’s BoulderMOD factory, I didn't know what I wanted to do. I thought maybe college, maybe not. Now I have a real direction. I see a career path that I’m excited about, and it all started with this program. Instead of building small training projects, we were working on actual housing units for real people. That was a big deal to me. Having this experience made me want to get better, to be more careful, and to actually understand how things work from start to finish. What I am doing is not only helping me, but also my community. I’m not just learning how to build, I'm helping build something that matters.” - Elan Castillo Veltman, Fairview High School/Boulder TEC Construction Trades, Class of 2026

Enjoying life as an empty nester now, being a Habitat homeowner has provided my family and me with a place to call home, a place to feel safe, and a way to become integrated into the Boulder community through work, education, worship, and volunteer work at various organizations. Thank you, Flatirons Habitat for Humanity, for providing my children and me with a beautiful house - a place to call home. - Helen, Flatirons Habitat Homeowner

"We feel positive about our home, proud and empowered."

"The biggest impact in getting our home was how my sons' attitudes changed about school and it made them work harder to reach their goals."

"We had no future ahead of us. Now we are homeowners."

"My sons and I were living in a one bedroom apartment without any safe areas for them to play. Owning our home provided them with their own rooms, a safe place to play, and caring neighbors/another Habitat family next door. It's been a wonderful experience and I am and will continue to be forever grateful."

"I was given the tools to go forth into the world in just the way I wanted. It's empowering. You still have to do the work, but having the tools? You can't replace that with anything, really."

Background Statement

For more than 30 years, Flatirons Habitat for Humanity has partnered with individuals and families to create pathways to safe, stable, and affordable homeownership. Through innovative construction, community partnerships, and high-impact programs, we help families break the cycle of poverty and build generational stability. At the heart of this work is BoulderMOD, our modular homebuilding facility created in partnership with the City of Boulder and Boulder Valley School District. By building smarter, faster, and more sustainably, BoulderMOD allows us to serve more families and amplify our impact. Together, we’re creating lasting change—one home, one family, and one community at a time.
