The PTA serves a diverse population of bilingual learners at Escuela Bilingüe Pioneer, a Title I school. We desire to provide experiences in and out of the classroom that foster a sense of belonging and school pride, and contribute additional school support, community engagement and volunteers.

I am very proud of the PTA at our school. All activities or projects are based on the needs of the families that make up the Pioneer community, which are 50% Hispanic. Support comes in varied forms. It is worth mentioning, for example, tutoring in language or mathematics and cultural or sports activities where the inclusion of both languages, Spanish and English, is always a priority. My children have had an excellent experience and I feel that they have not only acquired two languages, but also have a broad understanding of other cultures, at a young age. -Pioneer Parent

At Escuela Bilingue Pioneer we teachers are so fortunate to be supported by our fantastic PTA. The PTA has our backs and is always looking for helpful and creative ways to make sure all of our students get a quality education as well as enrichment activities. They support teachers and students all year long.
At the beginning of the year the PTA gives each classroom teacher a generous amount of money to spend on whatever they feel is important for their classrooms. The PTA organizes the Pioneer Mile, a fundraiser for our school. Not only does The Pioneer Mile raise money for our school, it keeps the kids involved in healthy exercise as they train for the big event. During parent teacher conference evenings in the fall and spring, the PTA organizes dinners for all teachers. Such a welcome treat on those long days at school!
The PTA helps kids and teachers to be good stewards of the environment by providing reusable classroom party utensils to reduce waste.
A successful enrichment activity that the PTA has sponsored is swimming lessons at our neighborhood rec center for 4th and 5th grade students who did not know how to swim. The participating students were so excited for the lessons and proud to learn such an important life skill.
At the end of the year the PTA organizes a whole slate of Teacher Appreciation Week treats and activities for us including chair massages, coffee bar, flowers from our students and gift cards.
