Colorado Legacy Roller Derby is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization creating a lifelong pathway in roller derby, from a skater’s first strides through adult competition, leadership, coaching, and service.
Our junior program, FoCo Junior Roller Derby, has served Northern Colorado youth since 2009. FoCo provides athletes ages 7–18 with a safe, inclusive environment where they can learn to skate, compete, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and find a community where they belong. Athletes of all gender identities and experience levels are welcome, and loaner gear helps make participation accessible to families who may otherwise be unable to afford the cost of equipment.
Colorado Legacy was created to ensure that the opportunities and relationships built through FoCo do not end when an athlete turns 18. Our adult program allows graduating skaters to continue competing, growing, and giving back alongside adult athletes from throughout the region. Together, our junior and adult programs strengthen roller derby by developing athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and community leaders.
Through affordable programming, financial assistance, equipment access, quality coaching, and competitive opportunities, Colorado Legacy empowers athletes of all ages and helps them realize what they are capable of, both on and off the track.

Colorado Legacy Roller Derby empowers athletes of all ages and bridges the transition from youth to adult sport.
FoCo Junior Roller Derby was founded in 2009 to give young people in Northern Colorado a place to learn, compete, and belong. Over the next 17 years, the program grew into a nationally competitive league and a lasting community for hundreds of athletes, families, coaches, officials, and volunteers.
However, when FoCo athletes turned 18, they aged out of the junior program and often had to leave their home league to continue participating in roller derby. Colorado Legacy Roller Derby was founded in September 2024 to change that. Its purpose was to create an adult program where graduating FoCo athletes could continue competing, developing as leaders, and contributing to the community that helped shape them.
In 2026, FoCo Junior Roller Derby became the junior program of Colorado Legacy Roller Derby, bringing the junior and adult programs together within one nonprofit organization. Today, Colorado Legacy provides a continuous pathway from a skater’s first practice through adult competition, coaching, officiating, leadership, and service.
What began as a youth roller derby program has grown into a lifelong community.
