Black Philanthropy Month arrives every August as a reminder of something older than any single campaign: the long history of Black communities investing in each other. This year's theme, "Many Voices. One Movement," points to a simple truth. No gift stands alone. Every act of generosity builds on the last, and that collective effort is what moves a state like Colorado forward.
LaDawn Sullivan, executive director Black Resilience in Colorado (BRIC) Fund, captured something we've been trying to say:
"When we give to Black nonprofits, we don't simply move dollars. We circulate opportunity. We strengthen local economies. We preserve culture. We improve health. We nurture leadership. We fuel innovation and anchor history. We build trust. And perhaps most importantly, we reinforce the belief that our communities deserve institutions built by people who understand them from the inside out."
Our students see that truth reflected in the people who lead and support TAF. It's part of what makes our programs work.
The Ambassador Foundation creates pathways to and through higher education for students from underrepresented backgrounds, helping them thrive as leaders in their communities and beyond.
College advising, leadership development, scholarships, and a network of peer leaders across Colorado campuses are foundational programs that equip the mission.
Opening doors to higher education for Colorado students throughout their post-secondary journey through graduation. Building community while enriching the lives of families, fellow students, and those who follow.
Established in August 2022, The Ambassador Foundation formed to bridge gaps in higher educational opportunities by providing financial support and college preparation services to refugee, immigrant, and underserved populations. The organization meets needs left due to lack of funding for similar services once included in resettlement programs in Colorado.
The Ambassador Foundation’s mission expanded to a robust model serving under-represented populations with college advising, leadership development, scholarships, internships, and a peer-led network for community building. The mentoring and well-rounded services ensure students enroll, remain engaged, and graduate from post-secondary institutions in Colorado and beyond.
