Testimonials

"I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the tremendous opportunity you all gave to these 4 children this past summer. The [YMCA] summer camps allowed them to step outside [their] cocoon  and reach out and experience new people, the pool, the terrific counselors, the activities and most importantly socializing and making new friends." - Teri, sponsor to refugee family who received a scholarship to YMCA summer camp.

"[The Beyond Hunger food pantry] program helps me to care for my father-in-law by getting fresh food for him at no cost. We were very impressed at the food he gets; fresh vegetables, ground beef, and yogurt. It is a relief to know that this is available for our family." -Fisher Family

Background Statement

The YMCA of Metro Denver is a vital and significant force building strong, thriving and equitable communities since 1875. We are a welcoming place for all and our programs reflect that commitment.

There has never been a greater longing for belonging. As a welcoming “third place” beyond work and home, the YMCA is where people explore their purpose, dreams, and goals; achieve health and wellness for their spirit, mind and body; connect with their community and feel a sense of belonging and possibilities like nowhere else.

* We are dedicated to the mental and physical health and well-being for all.

* As a connecting place, people of all ages and socioeconomic levels come together, inspire and learn from each other and help to develop the next generation of changemakers.

* We are a gathering place we cultivate understanding, respect and shared experiences as we seek to lift up each other and elevate the greater community.

Across our 6 wellness centers and 100+ program sites, the YMCA services 68,000 families, children and adults throughout Denver, Jefferson, Arapahoe, Adams and Douglas counties. For every $1 invested in the YMCA of Metro Denver, $3.07 is returned to the community.
