Serving the greater Broomfield community since 1963, Bal Swan Children's Center is an inclusive preschool serving children of all abilities in a strengths-based environment. Bal Swan's mission is to "build a social emotional foundation and nurture an inclusive learning community where children and families grow and belong."
Children are at the core of Bal Swan's business decisions. Therapists and teachers work together to create an ideal learning environment that meets each child's needs and creates community. Children develop skills of empathy, interdependence and a strong sense of self worth in Bal Swan's classrooms, while also developing skills of critical thinking that will foster their optimal academic achievement.

Bal Swan Children's Center builds a social emotional foundation and creates an inclusive learning community where children and families grow and belong.
- In 1963, five Broomfield families, who had children with disabilities, founded our school. At that time, the only option for children with disabilities was long-term care in an institution.
- In 1965, Bal Swan was selected as a pilot program by the state of Colorado to study the effectiveness of day programs for children with disabilities.
- Bal Swan expanded its mission in 1973 to focus on inclusion, meaning that children of all abilities learn together in a strengths-based environment.
- Bal Swan is the only non-profit in Broomfield serving neurotypical and neurodiverse children in a fully inclusive environment.
