Community Supports

Since 1981, the Vail Valley Foundation has been a leader in arts, athletics, education, and addressing community needs. Today, Community Supports is a key pillar of our mission, reflecting our commitment to making the Eagle River Valley a better place to live, work, and visit.

The VVF empowers possibility in our community. In response to our valley's critical childcare shortage, we established Eagle River Valley Childcare to expand access to affordable, high-quality early childhood education. In October 2026, we celebrated the opening of Lettuce Patch Early Learning Center in Avon. The new 13,595-square-foot facility features 12 classrooms and four outdoor playgrounds, with capacity to eventually serve up to 165 children ages six weeks to five years. Made possible through a partnership with the Town of Avon and generous community support, this milestone is an investment in our valley's future.

With your support, we remain committed to addressing community needs and creating opportunities for generations to come.

To support continued community leadership, select ERVC Fund on the designation drop-down.

Testimonials

"Having grown up in this community and now, as Chair of the Board, I've witnessed over the past 40 years what the Vail Valley Foundation means to our Valley. Whether it's providing educational support for local families, addressing critical community needs such as childcare, hosting world-class performing arts at our Vilar Performing Arts Center and Gerald R Ford Amphitheater, or putting on internationally renowned athletic competitions, the VVF’s efforts benefit and connect everyone who calls this home or enjoys visiting. The VVF doesn't just enhance our quality of life; it strengthens the very core of what makes this Valley such an extraordinary place and community. I'm proud to support an organization that truly empowers possibility for all of us."
- Chris Jarnot, VVF Board Chair

"I have been a supporter of the Vail Valley Foundation for over 25 years, and I do so because I can't imagine our mountain community without places like the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater and the Vilar Performing Arts Center. Both venues bring big time performances to our small town, and are a major part of what makes this valley such a great place to live and visit. I also really value what the VVF does through the Youth Power in education- providing that critical support after school for the children in our community."
