SERVE 6.8

A nonprofit organization

100% complete

$40,000 Goal

Our vision is to build up the local Church to meet the needs of a community while reconciling broken relationships. We will mobilize, resource, and connect the local Church with both volunteer and biblical care principles to fulfill the work they have been called to do in the name of Jesus Christ.

Testimonials

A few weeks ago a family came into the Resource Center seeking help to get their electricity turned back on, and with paying their rent. The family moved to Fort Collins this summer when the husband accepted a promising job offer, which guaranteed their bills would be fully covered. After the company lost business, the husband lost his job, and found himself working two odd-jobs to try to get his family caught up. Once the family realized they needed financial assistance, they began meeting with a Resource Navigator at the Resource Center. The Resource Navigator was able to quickly reconnect the family with their home church, who then found enough support to get their electricity turned back on. From there, the Resource Navigator connected the family to Homelessness Prevention Initiative and other community resources which ended up covering the remaining portion of their rent! With the help of the Resource Center, Vineyard Church, and various community resources, this family is now caught up on their bills and have an income which solidifies their financial stability.

Cynthia and Steven met each other in Florida and spent most of their time together on the East Coast. It wasn't until these college sweethearts took a trip to Europe and climbed the Swiss Alps that they realized their love for the mountains. Upon their return back to the States, it didn't take long for them to pack up and make the move to Colorado, particularly the Rocky Mountains. After living happily for several years and taking advantage of all the outdoor activities Fort Collins has to offer, Steven was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and it has been a tough ride ever since. Recently, the couple decided they wanted to move into a new place but were concerned they would not be able to move their belongings by themselves. Cynthia then reached out to Volunteers of America, who referred her to SERVE 6.8, and together both organizations were able to meet their need. Cynthia was amazed by the efficiency and dedication of our Team Members while moving their belongings. She could tell our Team Members wanted nothing more than to help that day, for which she is very grateful. Both Cynthia & Steven would like to thank SERVE 6.8 for the moving assistance, and they realize the move would not have been possible without the generosity of our Team Members taking time out of their weekend to give back to the community.
