Purple Door Coffee

Your donation allows us to provide a supportive, redemptive work environment for young people who have been homeless and want to leave homelessness behind. Each day we have the opportunity to communicate value, dignity and care to our employees, thank you for helping to make that a possibility!

Testimonials

"The Purple Door coffee family gave me the chance no one else would. They understood. I've never felt so at home. This mission works and I am proud to experience it. This is exactly what us 'Street Kids' needed."- Jenna, Program graduate

Mission

To reclaim and sustain the lives of homeless youth and young adults through supportive and meaningful employment.

Background Statement

Purple Door has operated since April 15th, 2013. We have employed 32 young people exiting homeless with 23 of them not returning to homeless, and 24 of them moving directly into other jobs, education opportunities, or training programs after completing their time with Purple Door. We began our time as an organization being incubated by Belay Enterprises, a non-profit that has been job training individuals with barriers to employment in the Denver area for over 20 years. In 2015 we became our own non-profit organization.

In late 2016 we launched our coffee roasting program to expand both the number and type of training opportunities we offer. We're hopeful to continue growing by launching new initiatives and job training opportunities to our friends exiting street life.
