To save dogs from rural, underfunded, and overcrowded Colorado shelters, places where adoption is unlikely and the risk of euthanasia is high due to limited space, scarce resources, or restrictive municipal codes. Through rehabilitation, education, and advocacy, we support shelter dogs and the rural communities and organizations that care for them, creating more sustainable pathways to lifesaving and lasting change.
Established in 2023, Pawsitive Pathways is a grassroots, family-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving dogs from rural Colorado shelters where overcrowding, limited resources, and restricted adoption opportunities put lives at risk. Through individualized rehabilitation, medical care, enrichment, and training, we give dogs the time and support they need to become successful lifelong companions. Beyond rescue, we partner with rural shelters and communities through education, behavior support, and advocacy to strengthen local animal welfare efforts and create more sustainable lifesaving opportunities. What began as a small passion project has grown into a uniquely positioned organization with a statewide network of supporters and a vision for something bigger. At Pawsitive Pathways, we believe saving lives is about more than finding dogs homes; it's about changing outcomes, strengthening communities, and creating lasting pathways for animal welfare across rural Colorado.
