Testimonials

"Thank you Denver Academy for those people and moments which changed my daughter's life. You're a magical place where healing and learning happen together."
~ Parent of a 2019 graduate

"Denver Academy helped me realize that I had worth and talent I could contribute."
~ Nevin Z. Class of 2014 graduate

"My son began DA as a freshman. He was nervous. Within a short time, he was a different child. He was happy! My only regret was that I did not send him sooner. I didn't think I could. I am a single parent and the sole support of my son. I never dreamt I could send him to Denver Academy. I am eternally grateful for the tuition assistance program. Without this program I have no doubt that my son would have dropped out of high school. I also have no doubt that he likely would not be here today. My deepest appreciation to all who made this possible for my son."
~ Mother of a 2020 graduate

Mission

Denver Academy inspires and empowers diverse learners through student-centered, differentiated and transformative education.

Background Statement

Established in 1972, Denver Academy believes that students thrive when taught in the way they learn best. One of the top schools in the nation dedicated to teaching diverse learners, including those with dyslexia, ADHD, twice-exceptional students and those with other learning differences. The school's curriculum is designed to not just accommodate, but to enrich the educational experience for these children with learning styles not typically honored in the traditional American classroom.

In the Elementary School, we offer a structured and nurturing environment, with a tailored approach to help each child build a foundation of basic skills and academic success. Each lesson plan includes an emphasis on creativity and engagement. The Middle School offers a safe environment to help ensure both academic and social success with a model which looks at the whole child. Our High School program is designed to address the educational profile of each student to help them reach their full potential. We offer several levels within each academic subject to allow students to excel in their areas of strength while addressing their areas of need. More than 90 percent of our graduates continue to post-secondary education.

Denver Academy serves around 450 students in grades 2-12. With small class sizes (14 students or fewer), students thrive and experience academic success. Our beautiful 22-acre campus is located in suburban Denver and provides an idyllic setting for academic and extra-curricular pursuits.
